Doug graduated from Auburn University and earned a master’s degree from the University of Alabama. He also received a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Doug has been awarded the American College of Healthcare Executives (Alabama) Regent’s Award, “Young Healthcare Executive of the Year,” and previously served as chief executive officer for a hospital then recognized by Modern Healthcare magazine as one the 100 “Most Improved Hospitals in America”. |
Keith Anderson | |
Medical Director | |
Dr. Anderson came to HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in July 1991 as medical director. Dr. Anderson received his doctor of osteopathic medicine from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1987. He is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and also as an independent medical examiner. Dr. Anderson has a broad-based rehabilitation practice including inpatient and outpatient medicine. |
Joy McMinn | |
Director of Nursing | |
A lifelong resident of North Alabama, Joy received her degrees in nursing from Calhoun Community College and from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She has nearly 20 years of experience in nursing management and supervision of patient care activities in acute care and has spent the past six years in nursing and quality management in acute inpatient rehabilitation. |
Susan Creekmore | |
Director of Therapy Operations | |
Sue Creekmore has been the director of therapy operations at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of North Alabama since February 2002. Sue graduated cum laude from the University of Montevallo with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communication science disorders. Sue has worked in a variety of settings over the last 21 years, including inpatient, outpatient, home health, and private practice. She has presented at local, regional and national conferences on dysphagia and communication disorders. |
Pam Herdy, MA, BA, R | |
Director of Marketing Operations | |
Pam has been the director of marketing operations since October 2000. She earned a master’s degree in spiritual psychology from the University of Santa Monica, a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Kentucky and a nursing degree from Motlow College. Her experience includes external and internal case management in many settings with more than 20 years of experience in case management in rural as well as urban settings. Her presentation and teaching experience has involved a wide variety of topics on local and regional levels. |
Carol Johnson | |
Controller | |
Carol joined HealthSouth in 2000. She has more than 25 years of varied accounting experience including 11 years in public accounting. During five years with Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City, Carol spearheaded the installation of one of the first hospital-based computerized time clock systems in the United States. A native of St. Louis, Carol has lived in the Huntsville area since 1997. Carol attended the University of Missouri. |
Sharon Mikell | |
Director of Human Resources | |
Sharon has been the director of human resources for HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of North Alabama since October 2000. Sharon has more than 20 years of human resources management experience, with more than 10 of those years in a hospital setting. Sharon is experienced in orientation, compensation, benefits, and workers compensation, and unemployment and employee relations. A Florida native, Sharon attended the American Institute of Banking and Indian River College for Business Administration. |
