Douglas H. Beverly, MHSA, MTA
Chief Executive Officer
Doug has been the chief executive officer at HealthSouth North Alabama since April 2000. He has been awarded the American College of Healthcare Executives (Alabama) Regent’s Award, “Young Healthcare Executive of the Year” and previously served as chief executive officer for a hospital then recognized by Modern Healthcare magazine as one of the “100 Most Improved Hospitals in America.” Doug graduated from Auburn University and earned a master’s degree from the University of Alabama. He also received a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Keith Anderson, D.O.
Medical Director
Dr. Anderson came to HealthSouth North Alabama as medical director in July 1991. He received his doctor of osteopathic medicine from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1987. He completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago. He is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and also as an independent medical examiner. Dr. Anderson has a broad-based rehabilitation practice including inpatient and outpatient medicine.
Keith Anderson, D.O. is an independent private practice physician whose office is located at the hospital.
Susan Creekmore, MS-CCC
Director of Therapy Operations
Sue has been the director of therapy operations at HealthSouth North Alabama since February 2002. She has worked in a variety of settings over the last 26 years including inpatient, outpatient, home health and private practice. Sue has presented at local, regional and national conferences on dysphasia and communication disorders. She graduated cum laude from the University of Montevallo with both bachelor and master degrees in communication science disorders.
Risha Hoover
Director of Marketing Operations
Risha has been the director of marketing operations since 2009. She previously served as marketing director for a free-standing diagnostic center for 22 years were she was awarded Sales Person of the Year for the company. Prior to moving to Huntsville, Risha served as development coordinator and guest relations director at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. She also served as the telethon coordinator for the hospital in conjunction with the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon. Risha holds a bachelor’s degree from Rhodes College.
Carol Johnson
Controller
Carol joined HealthSouth North Alabama in 2000. She has more than 30 years of varied accounting experience including 11 years in public accounting. During five years with Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City, Carol spearheaded the installation of one of the first hospital-based computerized time clock systems in the United States. A native of St. Louis, Carol has lived in the Huntsville area since 1997. Carol attended the University of Missouri.
Phillip Mason, RPh
Regional Director of Pharmacy
Phillip has been the director of pharmacy at HealthSouth North Alabama since December 2008 and has recently assumed additional responsibilities of being the southeast regional director of pharmacy for HealthSouth. Prior to his employment with HealthSouth, he has 22 years of retail pharmacy, home health and hospital pharmacy experience. Phillip earned his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the Harrison School of Pharmacy, Auburn University in 1986.
Joy McMinn, RN, CRRN
Director of Nursing
Joy has been the chief nursing officer at HealthSouth North Alabama since 2001. She has more than 25 years of experience in supervision of patient care activities, nursing and quality management and has been a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN®) for 4 years. A lifelong resident of north Alabama, Joy received her degrees in nursing from Calhoun Community College and from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
Sharon Mikell
Director of Human Resources
Sharon has been the director of human resources at HealthSouth North Alabama since 2000. She has more than 40 years of experience in business, advertising, banking and human resources as well as more than 25 years experience in human resources administration in areas of banking and healthcare. Sharon is a native of Florida and has lived in Alabama for 15 years. Sharon attended the American Institute of Banking in Miami, Florida and Indian River College.
